I USA ökar man nu insatserna mot den ekonomiska brottsligheten efter att president Barack Obama utfärdat en order om inrättande av en ny enhet som verkar över myndighetsgränserna och som ska bekämpa den ekonomiska brottsligheten i landet, The Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force.
Följande enheter ingår i den nya enheten:
§ the Department of Justice;
§ the Department of the Treasury;
§ the Department of Commerce;
§ the Department of Labor;
§ the Department of Housing and Urban Development;
§ the Department of Education;
§ the Department of Homeland Security;
§ the Securities and Exchange Commission;
§ the Commodity Futures Trading Commission;
§ the Federal Trade Commission;
§ the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation;
§ the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System;
§ the Federal Housing Finance Agency;
§ the Office of Thrift Supervision;
§ the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency;
§ the Small Business Administration;
§ the Federal Bureau of Investigation;
§ the Social Security Administration;
§ the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigations;
§ the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network;
§ the United States Postal Inspection Service;
§ the United States Secret Service;
§ the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement;
§ relevant Offices of Inspectors General and related Federal entities, including without limitation the Office of the Inspector General for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board and the Office of the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program; and
§ such other executive branch departments, agencies, or offices as the President may, from time to time, designate or that the Attorney General may invite.
